What is this about?
In this story, the characters start with a life, but within a day, they face a turn that changes their whole life around.
It was a dark day. Nothing was perfect. The electricity at Mol Co. was also out. People were walking down the street with intentions of finding places to get electricity. And on the couch of the one luxury home at the corner of the street sat Dave.
Many people rang the doorbell at Dave’s house but Dave refused to let anyone in.
Once, Dave’s own dad came, and he yelled at Dave for being so selfish.
So, Dave responded with, “Well, everyone should have been prepared for the storm by getting a generator. So now that I got a generator, it doesn’t mean that I am required to take care of everyone.”
“Look Son. I know that you have the money to afford a generator, but these people on your street all come to you since you have the money. You should at least help them.” Lectured his dad.
“I don’t get your point. So, you want me to invite people to my house just because I have extra money to waste on the unprepared of the neighborhood.”, argued Dave.
“Son. If that is what you want, then I can’t do anything else besides me leaving. Also, have you checked the stock market yet”, questioned Dave’s dad.
“I currently can’t. There is no electricity in my company office. They will let me know once the electricity comes back”, explained Dave.
After just a couple of hours, it was dinnertime. While Dave was sleeping, Dave’s dad had let everyone in for dinner. The whole neighborhood was astonished by the difference between the dad and the son.
Dave was coming downstairs after waking up. And he said:
“Dad! Where did all these people come?”, exclaimed Dave.
“I invited all of them for dinner.”, explained Dave’s dad.
“Oh.”. Dave sighed with concern. Meanwhile, the cook started to layout the food on the table.
Everyone sat down, and as soon as Dave inserted the first bite of his food into his mouth, he got a call.
Everyone got quiet as each person looked at each other to find out whose phone was ringing. So, Dave picked the phone up, and heard these words:
“Dave, remember the investment you did into the company just yesterday, well they fell from $9.00 to $0.20. You can either sell your investment or purchase more and hope the stock goes up”.
Dave replied with: “Purchase $20,000 worth of more stock from the company. We can make even more money when the prices go up”.
“Alright. Purchased.” Replied the Personal Assistant of Dave at the company.
As soon as Dave ended the call. Everyone started to go back to talking, and Dave’s phone started to ring again. But this time, he also got a text from a close friend of his.
The phone call was from his Personal Assistant. He answered.
“Dave. The stock you just purchased earlier has fallen to pennies now. People are predicting for the company to fail. The company will not rise. So basically now we are broke”.
“Wait. Wait. Sell all the stock I purchased. I need to pay this months bills.” Replied Dave with great tension.
“Well, we could try, but you can’t sell it any lower than pennies. Probally no one would think about purchasing it”.
“Just try”. Dave replied.
And Dave once again ended the call.
Dave picked up his spoon for another bite. And his phone rang once again. This time, Dave left the room to answer the call.
“Dave. The company has been overtaken. Not the company we almost purchased. Our company.” Sadly stated the Personal Assistant.
Dave replied with great concern. “Wait. Wait. Wait. How?”
His Personal Assistant said that Dave had spent all his time after the other company that our stock rates came sky rocketing down and someone got enough time to purchase ALL of our share.
And that the new owner of the company shall be Robert.
“NOOOOOOOOOO”. Yelled Dave.
Dave’s dad came in the room and asked what happened. Dave explained everything to his dad. And at last, his dad told Dave that when he told Dave not to go after the company, Dave went after the company just because of the high rates it was sitting at. However, but Dave now see’s how his dad was correct before.
Sometimes, something too good to be true, is too good to be true.
